Sunday School We offer great Sunday School classes for children ages 3yrs - 5th grade. Our Sunday School teachers have been informed of SUMC's Safe Sanctuary Policy & are required to complete background checks. We use Rock Solid curriculum from Cokesbury in all three classes. Sunday School begins at 9:45am and all classes are located in the Children's Education Wing: 3yrs-Pre-K - Classroom G (Teacher: Pam Browning) K- 2nd Grade - Classroom E (Teacher: Kathy Bryson) 3rd - 5th Grade - Classroom D (Teacher: Patty Olbrantz)
Upstream Upstream is a contemporary worship service designed especially for kids! Children 3 years-5th grade are invited to come take part in this energetic and meaningful service. Upstream coincides with the late service, beginning at 10:55am in the Fellowship Hall. Children will have a snack, sing contemporary worship songs and hymns, hear a sermon, participate in discussions, make crafts and play games. “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:38 JAM & God's Kids JAM (Joy & Music) and God's Kid's are Skyland UMC's midweek children's programs that take place on Wednesday night's following the CHOW supper. JAM begins at 6:30pm and is a contemporary singing group for children. Immediately following JAM, we transition in to God's Kids where we have a 30 minute Bible lesson from 7:00-7:30 pm. In the New Year we will be completing a series on The Lord's Prayer. Children 3 years - 5th grade are invited to attend!
Nursery
A safe, nurturing and loving environment is available for families with young ones all morning long on Sunday's. The nursery is also available on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm. Our friendly nursery staff has completed background checks and are CPR/First Aid certified.
