Serve

CHOW-SERS
We are here to support the groups assigned to Wednesday night CHOW meals.  Could include assistance with shopping, meal preparation, set-up, clean-up, serving, etc.  We would love to have more people involved.  Commitments can be as small or as large you like.  WE NEED YOU!  Please call Patty Olbrantz for more information.

ABCCM - Serving Dinner to the Homeless

We serve supper on the 4th Wednesday of each month to the "least of these".  We alternate between the shelter for women and the shelter for men.  We need cooks (as we provide the food) and servers on assigned Wednesdays.  The time to serve is 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. .  Cooking can be done at home.  Please call Steve Chapin for more information.

Hospitality at Skyland U.M.C.
We are here to communicate information to congregation about events, decorations, food preparations, and clean up during church dinners and events.  Some of these events include Palm Sunday dinner, Camp Tekoa Picnic, Christmas Banquet, and Meet and Greet the minister on Sunday afternoons.  This group meets as needed for event planning and helps at each event.  Help is always needed.  Please call Diane Rutledge for more information.

Faith in Action Day
One Saturday each Spring our congregation participates in service projects on Saturday morning from 8:00 am - 12:00 Noon.  Spring 2009 included work at MANNA Foodbank sorting and packing food, visiting residents at the Givens Health Center and also working on church members projects (i.e. washing windows, yard work or minor home repair).  This group meets with the council on ministries group every other month.  Call Jim Nichols with any questions.

Bus Drivers Needed!
What keeps the church moving?  The bus drivers do!  We provide transportation from Givens to the church and back for most events and transportation for outings when needed.  We are always looking out for new bus drivers with a class B license.  Don't have it?  Let us help you get yours.  Please contact Jim Nichols if you are interested in being a bus driver, being on the committee to coordinate the drivers or would like more information.
